Free Monthly Virtual Book Discussions to Promote Reading, Ongoing Learning and Critical Conversations

We read queer science-fiction and fantasy! Our monthly social bookclub meets between the San Fernando Valley and Culver City. We follow strict Covid guidelines to ensure everyone's safety.

This is a no-stress, no-judgment book club that meets the first Wednesday of every month(ish) at Redemption Rock Brewing. This club has a focus on socially minded books that can open members up to different perspectives and interesting topics relevant to our world today. Books are available at a discount through Hygge House Books, but you do not need to purchase through us to be a part of the book club. You don't even need to read the book! Just show up ready to have an open-minded chat, partake in a bevvy or two, and hang with some cool people.

We read cultural classics and contemporary literature with a focus on books that tell the story of the African, African American, and Indigenous (Native) experience. Nothing is off-limits.

Weekly discussions, typically a chapter at a time, of books that help us deeper understand the perspective of many different races and ethnicities to aid us in envisioning, creating, and supporting a more just, equitable, and anti-racist society.

We are a group for LGBTQ+ folks & allies to read queer-themed books & books by queer authors! Free, virtual, and open to all, our group aims to have diverse thought-provoking discussions about queer identity, history, and topical issues. All are welcome to join!
